:bedtime fights:

I still don't have a camera, so I don't have any fun picture updates to give to you! Sorry!

Instead I'm having a slight vent session.

My little Preslee is being the worst bed-goer in the world lately. Seriously.
I don't know if this is normal 4 year old stuff, or if she is needing lots and lots of extra attention. But she has been fighting me for over an hour. OVER AN HOUR.
I feel like I have tried everything.
We have a consistant bedtime every night.
We have a bedtime routine.
I have tried laying by her. She fights.
I have tried tickling her back. She fights {after i leave the room of course}
I let her watch a movie. She fights.
I let her have a night-light. She fights.
I tried snacks right before bed. She fights.
Drink of water?! Nope. She fights.
I made her "Witch-Be-Gone" spray. Sprayed it tonight. Still fighting!
And yes, I resorted to swatting her butt tonight. Still fighting. (yes, I am a mom who still believes a child should get their butt swat once in a while...
She is now yelling "what are you going to do with me? MOM What are you going to say to me?"
I haven't answered her in at least 10 minutes and she just keeps saying it.
10:10 and she is fighting still. I tried to put her in bed at 8:45.

I am out of ideas. Got any?

((i don't know why the post time says 9:05 because it is 10:15pm right now....)

... you like me, you really really....

Awww... how nice! I got an "award"!!! The Honest Scrap Award, which I am unsure exactly what that means, but I think I will go with Martha's interp of it and say that "I am taking this little scrap of html as an endorsement that I represent myself truthfully, as a modern woman, [wife] and mother, who is doing her best and is not afraid to admit she doesn't know what she is doing at times." teehee
Here are the rules for this award:

a) List 10 honest things about yourself - and make it interesting, even if you have to dig deep! and

b) Pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you feel embody the spirit of the Honest Scrap.

1-I once lived in a tent for an entire summer and worked as a cook at a river rafting resort in Jackson, WY. I loved every minute of it! And there are days that I wish I could go back to such a simple life!
2-I have had migraines since about the age of 4. Thankfully, once you've had them for 20 years, they start to subside. *yes there is hope for those of you who get them*
3-I used to say that 2 kids would be plenty for me. Now that I have them, give me 4! They are so much fun (despite my "bedtime fights" post!) and I can't imagine my life without them. Although, see #1. :D
4-When I was little I was embarrassed that my parents had enough money to store-buy everything. (kids, who knows!) My friend's mom would make her outfits... so I told everyone that my mom actually made my SHOES. hehehe
5-I weighed a whopping 26 pounds at the ripe ol' age of 6 months. (Cash is almost 2 and weighs 28 pounds! Imagine the rolls on me. I know. They're still there.)
6-When I was little I refused to be anything but a princess for Halloween. I had 2 sisters, so my mom was trying to do the 3 little pigs, but I had to have a princess dress and tiara! I was such a tomboy-who knows where that came from.
7-I always wanted to be done having my kids by the time I was 30. If I have the couple more I'd like, then that's just not happening.
8-I have 2 diabetic siblings, and yet I still eat like crap! You'd think I would be more appreciative of my health and take care of the body I have.... Hm.... I'll start that today.
9-I absolutely love softball, and was darn good at it. We still play co-ed with my family and a few friends, but my abilities have gone downhill a bit. Softball was really the one thing I was super proud of growing up.
10-My dream is to own a restaurant... no a spa.... no wait, a bakery........ Ok, maybe all 3 combined in a huge retreat, and have enough hours in the day to work all areas and still raise happy and healthy kids ;)
And now I present this award to the following:
Brittney
Megan
Mom
Kris
Jenny
Dyana
Kandice
AND Crissi (I know thats 8 people, but I'm a rebel like that)

-hot shot-

So... I need a new camera. My adorable little kids broke mine. :( it was a great camera, we had it for 2 years, and one of them (no confessions yet) dropped or slammed it against the counter breaking all the gears for the lens. Lucky for me, the camera place can't just fix the gears, they have to replace the entire lens unit--making it as expensive as a new camera. HA HA!

Oh well, right?! It's always fun to get new things like that! Just not fun to pay for them. hehehe

So, the point is, I will have a new camera and therefore new pictures.... soon.....

Let it snow.. Let it snow.... aw Hell....

So, this morning we were actually going to be ON TIME for daycare/work! It was going to be a belated Christmas Miracle. Just as we were heading out the door I got a call from Byron (my landlord) who proceeded to tell me we had 17 inches of fresh snow from last night and his 4-wheeler would not push it because it was so deep.
Great.
So, I put the kids up in the window seat and told them to watch Mommy... I got my boots and coat on, and headed out to shovel the steps first. Um.. it was TO MY KNEES on my steps. Gracious. Then I headed to the driveway as they switched windows so they could continue to watch. They sure loved it. I'm sure they did. Watching Mommy shovel her heart out all morning. 2 hours to be exact. And barely clearing a space big enough for my car to turn around on the driveway. The 4-wheeler finally did work to some degree, and with me, Tara and Kenya (Bryon's wife and granddaughter) tagging along behind him with shovels, we finally got a path wide enough for my car to get down the driveway. Success!

Here's to heated driveways!!

:: you've gotta be kidding me ::

Several things I was not aware would happen when I signed up for this motherhood thing:
a) wake up calls, such as today, by a child throwing up in your hair. I guess that's what I get for letting my little ones migrate into my bed once in a while... but come on!
b) invisible feet. It doesn't seem to matter if my kids have slippers on, socks, or their biggest/heaviest/meanest boots on, they don't seem to see my feet. They get tromped all the time. ouch.
c) shower times after 3:00pm. yes, as I sit here putting up my new post and checking facebook, I am unshowered for the day. (now, mind you, I washed my hair at 5:00am when the little princess upchucked in it)
d) don't even get me started on the cold meals, wiping noses with fingers, and eating half chewed food items because there is no garbage in sight. (you can pretend you don't do it.... but all us mommies know the truth!)

Just one of those days when all of the above applies and had to vent ;)

((burp))

I made some cute burp cloths the other night... and I'm thinking they could be a pretty cute baby gift. (what do you think?) So-if anyone knows someone having a baby and is getting them a gift, consider throwing a couple of these in with it ;D I'll make you a sweet deal! (I'll have lots of options on colors and patterns as well) And on Meg and Brit's suggestion, I will be trying to make them 'hourglass' shaped in the future so that they sit on your shoulder well. ;)

angels among us

*Mommy*~*Preslee*~*Daddy*~*Cash*

Preslee got this art easel from Santa. Yesterday she was coloring and
I asked her what she was coloring.
She told me she drew our family.
Mommy, Her, Daddy & Cash.
No, those are not big ears on Daddy... they are wings.
She knows her Daddy is an angel among us.
Just had to share.

|/\| snow days |/\|

Today we went sledding! It was so much fun. We headed up to Hobble Creek with the family and some friends and froze our little behinds off! Cash was not totally convinced that it was fun, but we at least tricked him long enough to go down the hill twice. HA! He screamed the whole way down... then laughed when we were at the bottom.

The other day the kids went and built a snowman with Abush. My kids love the snow! To play in, and to eat. (they take after their mommy :D)

]] happy new year [[

I want to wish you all a happy new year! I hope this new year brings all the joy and happiness that all my friends and family deserve! Because you do...
This year we were lucky to have a friend throw a "family friendly" party. It was alot of fun! The kids had a great time playing with all the little ones there~and I had a great time talking to adults! :D Playing games, snacking on good food, and laughing the night away. Thanks Krista! It was a great night.

2008 was a trying year for so many of us. There were so many difficult times and stumbles that we all felt on this journey we're all on... the good news is that we've made it this far. I just heard today about how our minds will always try to prove ourselves RIGHT... that is why an optimist is always right about life, and why a pessimist is always right too. We prove ourselves right. I hope that we are all able to look for the good in our lives starting today-so that we can prove to ourselves that we do have so much good and so many blessings to be thankful for.

We are moving into the new year with one person watching from above instead of from this earth. While we have alot of hard road ahead of us, I know we will be ok with him watching over us and helping us through.

Happy New Year to you all!
