I'm waiting for my wedding pictures, they'll be well worth the wait, I promise! But I can't hold off on our wedding post any more. I will post pictures later on, once they are all done:)
[[Ryan + Emily June 23, 2011]]
Our wedding day was amazing. I'm the luckiest girl in the world!! It felt like a lot of running, but it didn't seem stressful. I was ready for that day to be here! We had the most amazing wedding luncheon at La Jolla Groves at the Riverwoods in Provo. Delicious! Their food was fantastic, their atmosphere is perfect, and our families really enjoyed themselves, I think! It was exactly what we wanted. Ryan had asked Jack to be his best man the day after he proposed. Jack responded with "Dad, I'm not old enough..." but once Ryan explained that it could be anyone that he wanted, Jack was *SO* excited!! He could not wait to play the role, and he did a really awesome job. He wrote a best man speech and gave it at the luncheon. I want you all to read what he said:
Jack's Best Man Speech:"Welcome everyone and thank you for being here today. And thank you to those who have worked hard to make today so special. I am especially glad ot be here on this occasion to celebrate this wonderful day with my Dad.
I've known the groom for a long time, in fact, since I was born. I am grateful to have him as my Dad. I love my Dad because he always finds time at some point in the day to spend with me. I love being with him and doing things with him. We like to camp together, go to the movies, and play board games. Even though my Dad works nights, and that makes him practically nocturnal, he still finds time for me. It lets me know he loves me. I first met emily when I came to visit my Dad during Spring Break. We all went bowling together. I remember that Cash tried to bowl the same way that I did and the bowling ball usually knocked Cash, instead of the pins. My Dad is a pretty good bowler. I noticed that Emily was really nice and I could tell that she made my Dad happy. I'm glad my Dad is marrying Emily because it makes him really happy, and that makes me happy. It makes everyone happy. I'd like to end with a quote:
'Marriage is not about finding a person you can live with, it's about finding the person you can't live without'.
I think my Dad has found that person. Congratulations Dad.Everyone please join me in a toast: Here's to a lifetime of happiness and love for my Dad; To Ryan and Emily" There wasn't a dry eye in the room, I don't think. He did an amazing job with his speech...remember, he's only 11! I thought it was so sweet that he could see how happy Ryan and I are together.
After the luncheon we all went our seperate ways, for a short time. We headed over to the Springville Museum of Art, where Ryan and I got to have our "First look". We let him see me in my dress before the ceremony so that the moment could be captured more intimately. We took pictures of us as a couple, and then the big moment was about to begin!
Our guests took their seats, and my dearest friend Meredith played the guitar. She played "Somewhere over the Rainbow" for the kids to walk down the aisle to. It was so beautiful, and I absolutely loved seeing my kids walk down the aisle to Ryan and Jack. What a great symbol of our family coming together! Then it was my turn. My Dad walked me down the aisle, it was so special to me to have him be such a big part of my ceremony. My Dad is amazing; he has been a rock in my life for so many years. And it was no different that day. He made me laugh before walking down the aisle and reminded me to breathe... It really did save me from crying the ugly cry down the aisle :) Meredith played and sang the first verse to "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds. It's truly how I feel, so it was the perfect song to walk to my soul mate to.
Our bishop did such a great job performing the ceremony. I still have to ask him for a copy of what he said to us, because I would love to keep it forever. (If I can get a hold of that, I will type it up here as well) He did a great job in reminding us of how important our marriage and family is. Ryan was so sweet, and I did awesome with not bawling! It was a miracle, seriously! I few tears at the end of our kiss, but otherwise, I stayed calm... haha...
Immediately after the ceremony our guests congratulated us and we cut our cake and mingled.
Cupcake Chic made us 6 different cakes. They were all delicious and it was fun to have all those amazing flavors
[key lime, s'mores, red velvet, vanilla, carrot, coconut] for our guests to enjoy! I had a "groom's cake" made to surprise Ryan, it was two small cakes that looked like PlayStation controllers. He loves gaming, and he loved them! (I think Jack loved them even more, wait until you see the pictures of their faces when they first saw them!) After enjoying the evening with our families, we headed off to Park City. Meredith booked us a honeymoon stay at the Waldorf Astoria!! It was so amazing!! (I will make that a different post, though:)... later)
That was our day. I really couldn't have asked for a better way to join Ryan's life forever. I am so lucky to be his wife. We were truly made for each other; I thank my lucky stars, and my Heavenly Father, that we were led to each other. Ryan is my Once in a Lifetime.
I also have to give the biggest THANK YOU to my Mom, Megan, Brit, Auntie Kris, & Auntie Jen. They were so amazing at putting my wedding all together. They made my vision of how I wanted my wedding to be come true. I was so disappointed that the Museum attendees didn't give more support and help, but these girls picked up the slack in the biggest way. (Oh, and Danny too!) I didn't feel stress at all during our wedding, and that was in large part because they took care of everything for me so that I could just enjoy. Thank you all!! I love you so much!!
