4 weeks left?!

THIRTY-SIX WEEKS!

36wks: he's still in the 17.2- to 18.7-inch and 4.2- to 5.8-pound range and continues to beef up.
  • he's getting closer and closer to being able to breathe on his own.
  • His skin is getting smooth and soft and his gums are rigid.
  • His liver and kidneys are in working order.
  • Circulation and immune systems are basically good to go, too

Well, It doesn't seem like time has gone by very quickly since the last pregnancy post! I seriously thought it would, since we were on our "every 2 weeks" doctor visits! But, nope. It seems to be dragging. I cannot believe we still have 4 weeks to go until his Due Date! I am religiously telling myself that he will be born on the 17th (Ryan's Dad's bday) and hoping that my 'mind over matter' will work! A few days early is great! [oh please don't let us go over due!]

These days I wake up every morning feeling like I've been moving furniture all night. My back and hips are killing me. I can barely roll over in the night, but it's necessary to move out of the same position! (Which, honestly I do a ton of that any, since I'm up going pee a million times a night!) A few nights ago I had contractions for about 1/2 the night! I knew they weren't going to amount to anything, since we still have 4 weeks to go, but man, were they getting painful! My feet and ankles have been swelling like crazy, too! This pregnancy really feels all brand new to me. I didn't have this kind of discomfort, swelling, and general body misery with the other 2, I swear. I think it must be because I'm in my 30s this time?!? The only thing familiar about this pregnancy is the dirt craving; which luckily has subsided quite a bit in the last couple of weeks too.

My blood pressure is still great 108/65, and my weight is...... well....... it's my weight. HA! The doctor says we have no reason to believe baby will come early-but I'm chanting "the 17th" in my head anyway. Starting this Monday (tomorrow) we will begin our weekly doctors visits! This is about when I start to panic about having everything ready for the baby. I think he's pretty set, though! He has some outfits, lots of diapers, a crib and bassinet and lots and lots of love waiting for him!! Now...if only he would get here. (And pick a name!)
