AUGUST, BABY!

HERE ARE THE HIGHLIGHTS OF AUGUST!!

The Abel Family Reunion was a lot of fun this year! Mom was in charge of it this year and she took us all camping.. Schofield!! It was so much fun; we spent 2 nights freezing our fannies off in our little tent with the kids, but it was really great to get together with the entire family again. Grandpa sang and played the guitar, which is always awesome! We played games, cooked, roasted marshmallows, shot guns, played horseshoes, and the kids played in the stream.

TRAFALGA!! We had a lot of fun with our Pass of All Passes this summer. Lots of Trafalga and Seven Peaks fun!

August will be a bittersweet month for us from now on. Sweet because the kids get to go back to school! Hallelujah! But bitter because that also means we have to let Jack go. He has to leave to go start school as well, in St. Louis. We sure had a lot of fun with him here though. We had a little 'going away' party for Jack with everyone here. We had ice cream and cake and just chatted for a while. We also spent some time at Trafalga the day before he left. Ryan and I took him to the airport and sent him on his way to California to meet up with his Mom and visit grandparents for a few days. He's back in St Louis and started school; he's doing great! See ya soon, Jack! Christmas time can't come soon enough!!

My Dad was in charge of the Salem Days Rodeo this year. It was a lot of fun. The kids decided to try the Mutton Busting again, and they loved it! They both went down in about 3 seconds, but they didn't mind---because they got trophies anyway!! :) Abush was the 'bull fighter', too! Carson tried it as well, and should have gotten an award for the best dismount. He landed straight on his face--no hands to catch him. He was brave though! GOOD JOB KIDS!!

I wish we would have taken more advantage of the Spanish Fork North Park! It's such a great park, and the kids really loved running through the Splash Pad this year! So much entertainment! And it was nice for them to get cooled off in that hot summer sun!
